ECP issues show cause notice to chairman NADRA for sharing sensitive data with different political parties
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued show cause notice to chairman NADRA Tariq Malik for sharing sensitive data of voters with different political parties.
As per sources chairman NADRA had shared the data base voters lists and delimitation of constituencies data provided by ECP with PTI former government and different political parties while he was not authorized to do so. Therefore, clarification has been sought from him.
Chairman NADRA gave briefing to different political parties about voters lists and sensitive data without the permission from ECP. The ECP expressed annoyance over it saying this is open breach of election commission rules. It is job of ECP to give briefing on data about voters lists and delimitation of constituencies and not of NADRA. NADRA is only a contractor.
Sources said chairman NADRA had shared sensitive data with PTI too.
On the other hand it has also come into knowledge that private data of different senior officers of a sensitive institution was also leaked. Information about families of these officers were also included therein.
The top investigation agencies have started investigation in this regard. Chairman NADRA in order to save himself has shifted all the burden of this matter to DG Data Ware House Muzaffar. He obtained resignation from him and relieved him. However sensitive institutions are investigating into this matter too.
