Non payment of compensation to affectees: IHC orders CDA to go to affectees again, address their complaints and file report thereof

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered CDA to go to the affectees again, redress their grievances and file report in the court.

The court adjourned the hearing of case pertaining to non payment of compensation to the affectees till September 20.

The case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah here Friday.

CDA member Afnan Alam told the court the rehabilitation of the affectees and payment of compensation to them has been started in the light of court’s orders. Plan has been evolved for addressing the problems facing the affectees. Balloting has been done. We are resolving the problems on the spot.

Counsel for CDA told the court chairman CDA Capt (Retd) Muhammad Usman is in Karachi to attend a meeting related to Dengue.

The CJ IHC remarked we will hear chairman CDA when he returns.

The court summoned chairman CDA on September 20.

The affectees told the court they are wandering hither and thither since several years but compensation is not being paid.

The court remarked the affectees too did big injustice who go on filing fake claims.

The affectees requested the court CDA machines are running on our lands despite stay order.

Member Estate CDA told the court no machine is running where the court barred us from working.

The affectees told the court CDA officers give assurance in the court and then new officer comes on new date and gives new date.

The court ordered CDA should go to the affectees again, address their complaints and file report in the court.

The court adjourned the hearing of the non payment of compensation to the affectees by CDA case till September 20.
