Faisal Vawda disqualification case: Faisal Vawda has made court laughing stock, he will be laughing at judicial system: Counsel for petitioner


ISLAMABAD, October 14 (Online): Counsel for petitioner in federal minister Faisal Vawda disqualification case has told Islamabad High Court (IHC) Faisal Vawda has made the court joke and he will be laughing at judicial system.

IHC has summoned all the record from Election Commission (EC) about Faisal Vawda disqualification case besides deciding to move forward its proceedings in the case despite the non presence of Faisal Vawda and his lawyer.

IHC bench led by Justice Amir Farooq took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
No reply could be filed by Faisal Vawda nor any counsel appeared on his behalf at the inception of hearing.

The court expressed resentment remarking “ this is breach of court’s orders.

Barrister Jahangir Jadoon, counsel for the petitioner told the court Faisal Vawda has made the court laughing stock. Faisal Vawda will be laughing at judicial system.

Justice Amir Farooq remarked this is an important and legal matter. This case should not be politicized.

The counsel for the petitioner prayed the court to disqualify Faisal Vawda for concealing dual nationality. Court has summoned reply from him since January 29 but he is ignoring the court’s orders persistently.

Justice Amir Farooq remarked the court’s orders are being violated due to non appearance of Faisal Vawda. We know how to deal with the case. Election Commission will have complete record. When the nomination papers were filed and when the dual nationality was relinquished. We will move ahead by seeing election commission record.

The court sought complete record of nomination papers in respect of Faisal Vawda from election commission remarking proceedings will be moved forward in the light of election commission record.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 04.
