Names once dropped cannot be reconsidered under law : Justice Qazi Faez Isa writes letter to CJP

Justice Qazi Faez Isa has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) and chairman Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) Umar Ata Bandial raising the objection as to why the names who were not approved in the previous annual meeting of JCP have been included again.

The letter said that the names once dropped cannot be considered again as per law.

It may be mentioned that the names of Justice Shahid Waheed of Lahore High Court, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi of Sindh High Court and Justice Shafi Siddiqui have been included by CJP Umar Ata Bandial again for reconsideration in the meeting of JCP scheduled to be held on October 25.

Member Judicial council and senior judge Supreme Court (SC) Justice Qazi Faez Isa has raised objection over it.

It is pertinent to mention here that names of four judges of high courts have to come under consideration for their elevation as judge of SC in the meeting of JCP on October 25. They include Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Shahid Wahid, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Shafi Siddiqui.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa has raised objection over three nominations among these 4 names.
