A robust international cooperation is needed for reconstruction of flood hit Pakistan: UN Secretary general

ISLAMABAD: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said a robust international cooperation is needed for reconstruction of flood hit Pakistan.I visited Pakistan soon after flood and I became worried on seeing vast destruction therein due to flood., he added.He held 33 million people were affected and over 1700 people were killed due to floods in Pakistan.

Helping Pakistan is a big responsibility of the world community, he remarked.
Antonio Guterres said that he is in contact with the IMF and World Bank and hoped that these institutions will take meaningful action to support Pakistan.The secretary-general will co-host the Geneva conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

I will try to convince the international community for assistance to Pakistan, he held.
