Saudi Arabia becomes center stage as Milan derby comes to Riyadh

ISLAMABAD  Football’s center stage seems to be shifted to oil rich Saudi Arabia as Italian Giants – Inter Milan and AC Milan meet in the Supercoppa Italiana, the Italian Super Cup, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

Later, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will be taking on Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), as the later are on a mid-season tour of Saudi Arabia this month as the team looks to get fit again during the winter break.

According to media reports, PSG will face a Saudi Arabia All-Star side today (Thursday) and Ronaldo will captain the side, despite only just arriving in the country. Of course, the forward’s name precedes him and it shows that Saudi Arabia want to position the player as the face of the league. PSG will stream the fixture there as well as on their own video platform, PSG TV.

The rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo is legendary, with their clash in El Classicos drawing hoards of viewers from around the world during the late 2000s and the early 2010s.
