SC rejects appeal plea against production order of Shahbaz Sharif, Khawaja Saad Rafiq
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has wrapped up appeal plea filed by Riaz Hanif Rahi against the production order of Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Saad Rafiq declaring it non maintainable.
The matter came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan here Tuesday.
The petitioner took the plea before the court during the hearing of the case that Shahbaz Sharif became chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) during his detention under NAB. Parliament cannot frame such a rule which is prejudicial to some other law.
He further said those against whom investigation is running come to parliament on production order. NAB stricken people come to parliament on production order and deliver speech against the investigation pertaining to them.
Justice Ijazul Ahsan remarked you have no right to claim. How can you make Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Saad Rafiq respondents. How can you interfere in the affairs of parliament.
