SC moved against contesting poll on more than one seats

ISLAMABAD: Petition filed in Supreme Court (SC) against contesting election on more than one seat has been returned by registrar office with objections.
The petition was filed by a citizen Anwar Mughal. Federation and election commission have been made respondents.

The petition has taken the plea that the constitution allows candidate to contest polls on one than more seats.

As per constitution it is responsibility of the state that it should take steps for welfare of people. The state incurs expenses of millions of rupees on polls against one seat.

The petitioner has requested the court to nullify the article 223 which allows to contest election on more than one seats. Government should be ordered to make amendment in election act. The order be issued to the candidate who contests election on more than one seats to deposit expenses of by polls.
