No need of any legislation for election after 90 days: Law minister
ISLAMABAD: Law minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said there is no need of any legislation for election after 90 days.
“ there is no need of any legislation for holding election after 90 days. The respective institutions will have to give solid reasons for not holding election in time, he said this during a brief talk with the journalists here Monday.
Responding to a question about constitutional status of provincial assemblies election after 90 days he said the constitution makers have declared the election which is held after 90 days a constitutional election.
He went on to say that any constitutional job does not become unconstitutional for the reason that it did not take place within stipulated period. There should be credible reasons on non completion of constitutional work within stipulated period. There should be no such joke with the constitution. Clause is laid down in the constitution that there should be solid reasons if the constitutional job is not done within stipulated period.
