Anti-Corruption Day observed worldwide

ISLAMABAD, December 9 (Online): The Anti-Corruption Day has been observed worldwide on Wednesday.
According to details, the United Nations (UN) Secretary General (SG) António Guterres has urged all governments to be transparent and accountable, and to use the tools provided by the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
In his message on the day, he said corruption in the time of COVID-19 has the potential to seriously undermine good governance around the world, and to send us even farther off-track in our work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
He said corruption is criminal, immoral and the ultimate betrayal of public trust.
On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi said in his message that Pakistan has taken a number of measures to effectively implement International Anti-Corruption Conventions.
He also said a strict accountability regime has been enforced in the country that has greatly helped in curbing the scourge of corruption.
