Transferring of NAB references against Asif Zardari to Karachi case: SC admits appeal plea for hearing against registrar office objections
ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has admitted for hearing appeal plea of Asif Ali Zardari against the objections raised by registrar office on the petitions filed by the former president seeking transferring of NAB references to Karachi.
The court has directed to fix the petitions for hearing after winter vacations.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing.
Farooq H Naik, counsel for Asif Zardari argued during the hearing of the case “ we filed petition under section 16-A of NAB laws. Filing application for transferring the references to Karachi Accountability Court (AC) is our legal right. Registrar office rejected our plea and later we filed review petition.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked “ file the new application and court will fix it for hearing . This is matter of transferring NAB references from one province to other provinces and not from federation.
