ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has suspended Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision on reinstatement of teachers from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP).
The court while admitting for hearing the appeal pleas filed by KP government against the reinstatement of teachers from KP has issued notices to the respondents.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned after the winter vacations of court.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmad took up for hearing the appeal pleas filed by KP government against the PHC decision on reinstatement of teachers Wednesday.
During the hearing of the case Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan inquired from Advocate General (AG) KP “ tell us first what is your case.
A G KP Shumail Butt told the court teachers were recruited during previous tenures on the basis of political affiliations. The teachers who were recruited were not qualified. Our case is this that all the appointments were made without fulfilling the necessary requirements.
Justice Munib Akhtar remarked “ political priorities is a separate thing. Were the documents which have been submitted in SC presented in PHC. KP education department thinks every document will be welcomed in the court.
The court while suspending the PHC decision on reinstatement of KP teachers adjourned the hearing of the case after expiry of winter vacation of court.
