LOS ANGELES, December 18 (Online): Kylie Jenner has been named the highest-paid celebrity of 2020 – having earned more than US$590 million this year alone.
The second on the list – Kanye West – made US$170 million.
The celebrities were named by Forbes. According to reports, Jenner made most of this year’s money by selling her 51 per cent stake in Kylie Cosmetics. A majority of her brother-in-law West’s money came from his Adidas sneaker deal Yeezy.
Just behind Jenner and West at the number three, four and five positions are sports stars. Tennis champion Roger Federer brought in US$106.3 million, Cristiano Ronaldo took home US$105 million (making him the first player to make US$1 billion in his professional career). Lionel Messi made US$104 million.
Despite various sports being put on hold due to the pandemic, more sports stars made the top ten list including Neymar (US$95.5 million) and LeBron James (US$88.2 million).
According to the report, the highest-paid celebrities earned a whopping US$6.1 billion dollars – which is around US$200 million lower than the 2019 figure.
