IHC reserves judgment on the maintainability of petition filed by sacked PTV employees in connection with their reinstatement
ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the maintainability of the petition filed by sacked officers of PTV including Khawar Azhar, Qatrina Hussain and others seeking their reinstatement.
IHC bench led by Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb took up the case for hearing Monday.
Khawaja Farooq, counsel for sacked officers of PT V appeared before the court arguing that the contract employees have also some rights. Contract was breached by sacking them. Only MD is authorised to lay off or sack the employees.
The court inquired from Nazir Javad counsel for PTV “ have you removed them . Had you not money.
Counsel for PTV said their salaries were very high and they were removed as per terms of contract.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Zeb remarked “ good people will not work on less salary.
The court inquired will you pay them 3 months salary.
Counsel for PT V said PTV will pay them 3 months salary as per terms of contract. The employees were removed without any discrimination. The contract employees who are receiving salary over 3.5 lac will also be removed.
The court reserved judgment on the maintainability of the petition after hearing the arguments.
