Pakistan holds in high esteem its brotherly, friendly ties with Afghanistan: NA speaker


ISLAMABAD, Dec 30 (Online): Speaker National Assembly (NA) has said Pakistan holds in high esteem its brotherly and friendly relations with Afghanistan.

He said this while talking to Afghan minister for trade and industries Nasir Ahmad here Wednesday who called on him here Wednesday.

The two leaders exchanged views on promotion of bilateral trade and other matters of mutual interest.

NA speaker said the parliament is taking steps on priority basis for bolstering bilateral cooperation and trade volume.

He went on to say CPEC is project of development and prosperity of the region and Afghanistan will serve as trade gateway for other countries of the region due to this project.

He held Afghanistan role is of paramount significance for boosting trade volume till Central Asian States under CPEC.

Economic prosperity will come in both countries due to access of Pakistani and Afghan products to Central Asian States, he remarked.

Preferential trade pact and Afghan Transit trade will usher in new era of trade and investment between the two countries, he stated.

Afghan trade minister appreciated the steps taken by Pakistan for promotion of trade and investment between two countries .

He held that Pakistan role is commendable in Afghan peace agreement. Pakistan cooperation is must for abiding peace in Afghanistan, he added.

Pakistan parliament role in promoting trade and investment between the two countries is appreciable, he added.
80 percent headway has been made on Pak-Afghan preferential trade pact and Afghan transit trade pace and soon they will be signed, he pointed out.
