Blasphemous film case: IHC summons complete report from PTA on steps taken for blocking blasphemous material

ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought complete report from PTA on the steps taken by it for blocking blasphemous material.

IH C bench led by Justie Amir Farooq took up for hearing petition filed against releasing blasphemous film on social media web site Tuesday.

Naeem Ashraf advocate appeared in the court on behal of PTA.

PTA told the court efforts have been made for opening YOUTUBE office in Pakistan. We on our own cannot block material on YOUTUBE.

Justice Amir Farooq remarked “it will be good if offices of all social media science are opened in the country. We can seek reply from them when offices of social media science will run in the country.

Counsel for PTA told the court Best Netflex web site has contacted for blocking the controversial material. Trailer was on netflex and controversial film Best was running on website of best netflex.

The court remarked we will ban the controvesial film when it is released in Pakistan. Film is available on intenet. PTA has to keep an eye on such material. Can commoner lodge complaint with PTA.

PTA told the court common man can resort to PTA in connection with controversial material.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court they could block the website on their own. They had earlier blocked You tube.

The court remarked when this petiton came, PTA had earlier asked for blocking the material.

The court while summoning the details from PTA adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
