IHC rejects PTI petition against success of Yousuf Raza Gillani

ISLAMABAD, March 10 ( Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the petition filed by PTI challenging the success of Yousuf Raza Gillani in Senate.

The petition was filed by PTI MNA , Ali Nawaz Awan.

The court also rejected the petition seeking disqualification of Ali Haider Gillani MPA son of Yousuf Raza Gillani.

The case came up for hearing in single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah here Wednesday.

CJ IHC announced the decision after hearing the arguments of the parties concerned.

The court remarked during the hearing of the case “ your case is running in election commission. Use that platform first. Ali Nawaz Awan Sahb, you are a good and talented public representative. Why you bring such applications here.

CJ IHC remarked this writ is not maintainable here at this occasion. Taking the courts to political affairs unnecessarily is not correct. Election process is still going on.

Ali Nawaz Awan told the court we want to give arguments over the case.

CJ IHC remarked “ don’t argue here. This court has trust on parliament. Every thing will be done as per law. No high court can hear this case without law. You have filed the petition on the basis of a video. Supreme Court decision is very clear that proving video in the court is at least impossible.

The court while dismissing the petition wrapped up the case.
