48 newly elected senators take oath

ISLAMABAD, March 12 (Online): As many as 48 newly elected Senators have taken oath in Senate session under the presiding officer Syed Muzaffar Huassain Shah.

PTI senators who took oath were Mohsin Aziz, Liaqat Tarakai, Shibli Faraz, Faisal Salim, Zeeshan Khanzada, Dost Muhammad Khan and Hummayun Mohmand.

Dr Sania Nishtar, Falak Naz, Gardeep Singh, Fouzia Arshid, Saif ullah Niazi, Aun Abbas, Ejaz Chaudhry, Ali Zafar, Faisal Vawda, Saif Ullah Abroo and Abdul Qadir also took oath as senators.

8 Senators from PPP including Sherry Rehman, Salim Mandiwala, Taj Haider, Shahadat Awan, Jam Mehtab Vehar, Palosha Khan, Faroo H Naik and Yousuf Raza Gillani took the oath as senators.

6 senators from Balochistan Awami party also were administered oath as senators. They were Prince Ahmad Umar, Manzoor Ahmad, Sarfraz Bugti, Saeed Hashmi, Samina Mushtaq and Danish Kumar.

5 senators from PML-N also took oath. They included Dr Afnan Ullah, Sadia Abbasi, Sajid Mir, Azam Nazir Tarar and Irfan Siddiqui.

3 senators from JUI-F including Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Kamran Murtaza and Atta ur Rehman took their oath.

Two senators from MQM including Faisal Sabzwari and Khalida Tayyab, 2 senators from ANP including Hidayat Ullah and Umar Farooq, 2 senators from BNP including Muhammad Qasim and Nasima Ehsan and Kamil Ali Agha, one senator from PML-Q took the oath.
