ISLAMABAD, March 17 (Online): Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said opposition should be left on their own as we don’t care for whatever they do.
“Opposition should be left on its own. We don’t care for whatever they do. We are concerned about the people and growing inflation. The respective institutions and the departments will have to improve their performance on this count:, he said this while commenting on PDM announcement for postponing their Long March here Wednesday.
Sources said meeting of senior ministers was held under the PM Imran Khan here Wednesday to take detailed review of the prevailing situation of the country.
Commenting on postponement of PDM long march and the differences among the leadership of the opposition PM said I don’t care for what they do. Neither I had earlier given in to opposition pressure nor will I accept their pressure in future. We have to improve our performance. It would have made no difference to the government had long march taken place. I am not the person to succumb to their pressure.
He observed the escalating inflation is our problem. The respective institutions and departments will have to show their performance in this regard. No leniency will be shown to any one on this matter. The respective ministers should also listen they should now focus on the problems facing the people and to resolve them.
There are signs of improvement in our national economy despite growing cases of corona virus, he said adding but we will have to keep eye on the increasing prices of the eatables before the advent of holy month of Ramadan. The respective provincial governments should also discharge their obligations on this matter.
Sources said the PM urged parliament to play its due role in enacting effective legislation in the matters of public interest. .
