Senate approves resolution on providing anti corona vaccine to people free of cost or at international market price


ISLAMABAD, April 05 (Online): Senate has adopted resolution with majority vote on providing anti corona vaccine to the people free of cost or at the rate of original price in international market.
Senator Kamran Murtaza presented the resolution Monday in Senate that all the countries are striving to utilize all their resources to administer free of cost anti corona virus vaccine to their people while in Pakistan priority has been given to administer vaccine to the elderly people or front line health workers. A private firm has been allowed to import Russian manufactured sputnik vaccine and the price of two doses of this vaccine has been fixed as Rs 8400 against it real of Rs 1500. It is not possible for the people to pay high price of corona vaccine.

It was stressed in the resolution that government should provide corona vaccine free of cost or at the original price as per international market to the people.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani opposition leader said corona virus is global virus and all are being affected with this virus. Effective steps are needed to counter this virus.

Senator Shibli Faraz while speaking on point of order said black mailing will not work. Principled decisions should be taken in national interest. Standing committees are part of house wherein every party is represented.

Senator Azam Swati said it is hoped in the next three years work on reform agenda will be done.
