SC rejects WAPDA employees’ plea pretending to allowance


Islamabad April 12 (Online): The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the plea pretending to allowance of Wa¬ter and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) employees.
A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed conducted hearing of the appeal. The WAPDA employees’ lawyer while giving arguments took stance that the tribunal announced allowance for scientific, IT and Administration departments and the rest of the employees have been deprived of the allowance.
Justice Ijazul Hassan, during the hearing, remarked what is link between engineering graduate and research and agriculture graduates. The employees working in the research and agriculture departments are getting their salaries according to the organizational rules and regulations.
Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked the power body announced allowance for some employees and didn’t for other, asking is it the right decision.
