Protecting rights of the citizens is responsibility of state , not the court: SC

ISLAMABAD, April 13 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has remarked during the hearing of suo motu notice of murder of family members of Nayab Imrani protecting the rights of the citizens is the responsibility of the state rather than the court.

The court while accepting the plea of Advocate General (AG) Balochistan for appearing through video link in the case has adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Atta Bandial took up the case for hearing Tuesday.

During the course of hearing of the case Additional advocate general Balochistan sought time to study the reply filed by Nayab Imrani praying that advocate general Balochistan wants to appear in this case by himself. Permission be accorded for appearance of advocate general Balochistan through video link by himself.

Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked it was heard in Nayab Imrani sou motu notice case that we can not hear the personal problems of any one in suo motu notice. Protecting the rights of citizens is responsibility of the state. We want to end this case soon.

The court while accepting the plea of advocate general Balochistan for appearing in the court by himself through video link adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
