Parliament house in the siege of corona virus- PAC meetings cancelled



ISLAMABAD, April 21 : Corona virus cases are on rise in parliament house amid the reports that over 100 employees of Senate and National Assembly (NA) have been infected by this virus so far and over 10 employees have died.

In the face of growing number of positive cases of corona virus, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sessions to be held in coming 2 days have been cancelled.

According to parliamentary sources PAC subordinate committee meeting which was to be held on Wednesday under Navid Qamar was cancelled. The meeting of central parliamentary public accounts committee which was to take place today has not taken place.

On the other hand new orders have been issued for the officers who were to appear before the PAC. Federal secretary of every ministry has been directed he should attend the sessions along with concerned officials. Unnecessary staff members are not allowed to be brought in the meeting. Corona SOPs be adhered to strictly in the PAC meetings.

Auditor General Office has also been directed to bring in PAC meetings less staff members.

Parliament house building is being disinfected after some days due to growing Corona cases. The members of National Assembly have also been asked to follow Corona SOPs strictly.
