Corona virus claims 98 lives in last 24 hours


LAHORE, April 22 (Online): 98 fatalities occurred and 5857 persons tested positive due to corona virus in the last 24 hours in the country Thursday.
The overall national death toll has reached 16698 so far while positive cases have soared to 778238.
According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC),3986 people were recovered during the last 24 hours from COVID-19 taking the total number of recoveries to 676605

As per NCOC statistics the total number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has reached 275,081 while 4,562 people have died so far.

Sindh has reported 275,081 cases, Punjab 279,437, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 109,704, Islamabad 71,533, Balochistan 21,242, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 16,026, and Gilgit Baltistan 5,215.

In Punjab 7,718 people have died so far due to the Balochistan 226 in KP 2990, in Azad Kashmir, 449, in Islamabad 649 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 104 casualties have been reported so far. .
According to NCOC, Pakistan’s coronavirus situation is “rapidly worsening” and if the country remains on this trajectory, all major cities will have to be shut down.
It directed all provincial governments to ensure there is no lapse in the implementation of standard operating procedures.
