Iran-Pakistan ties have taken a new turn: FM

ISLAMABAD, April 22 (Online): Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan-Iran ties have taken a new turn.

“ Pakistan-Iran ties have taken a new turn. Iranian parliament should also play its role against Islamophobia in West”, he said this in a statement here Thursday.
The brotherly ties between the two countries have been further fortified
Iranian president has agreed over it that betterment has come in relations between Iran and Pakistan, he said adding he has met speaker of Iranian parliament.

We agreed that the role of parliament is of paramount importance in stabilizing bilateral ties and enhancing people to people contacts, he said adding we too agreed that the way Islamophobia is spreading fast in West, Iranian parliament should play its role against Islamophobia like Pakistan. Ulema of Pakistan and Iran will have to play their role to create awareness among the people with reference to Hurmat-e- Rasool to prevent the growing trend of Islamophobia.

During meeting with Iranian foreign minister Jawad Zarif, the bilateral ties between the two counties came under discussion. We also exchanged views on situation in Afghanistan, he pointed out.

We have launched a new crossing point in Mand and Pashin and this crossing point will benefit the citizens and the bilateral trade will be strengthened.

I am returning from Tehran satisfactorily and I am seeing addition of new chapter in friendship with Iran, he remarked.
