Corona virus claims 70 lives in past 24 hours


Lahore, April 26 (Online): 70 fatalities had occurred due to corona virus in the last 24 hours while 4825 persons tested positive on Monday.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has jumped to 800,452 after fresh inclusion of 4,825 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the overall positive cases have reached 800452 while the tally of deaths have climbed to 17187 .
As many as 4,234 people recovered from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, after which the total number of recovered patients has reached to 694,046.

As per the official data, 50,161 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, from which 4,825 tests returned positive.
The positivity rate of coronavirus in Pakistan stands at 9.61% as of today (Monday) whereas the number of active cases stands at 89,219.
As per provincial wise details, 285,542 cases were reported in Punjab, 290,788 in Sindh, 114,077 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 72,613 in Islamabad, 21,743 in Balochistan, 16,591 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 5,258 in Gilgit Baltistan.
On the other hand, NCOC has issued directives to immediately close O and A-Level classes, as well as regular academic sessions from Grade 9 to Grade 12 in private schools owing to the spike in coronavirus cases.
The NCOC ordered the closure of educational institutions in view of another spike in COVID-19 cases across the country.
