ISLAMABAD, May 05 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has fixed for hearing Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui dismissal from service case on May 17.
A five members bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial will hear the case on May 17. The other members of the bench are Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Justice Sardar Tariq, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Mazhar Alim Mian Khel.
The court has issued notices to all the respondents including Attorney General (AG).
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has filed petition in SC against Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) orders regarding his sacking.
The appeal pleas filed by Islamabad and Karachi bar associations have been fixed for hearing.
It is pertinent to mention here that Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was removed from his office for delivering speech against the intelligence agencies . The then senior judge of Islamabad High Court (IHC) had charged the intelligence agencies with interfering in the courts affairs during his speech at Rawalpindi bar on July 21, 2018.
