I am surprised over EC decision for recounting in NA-249 Karachi: CM Sindh

ISLAMABAD, May 05 (Online): Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has said he is surprised over Election Commission (EC) decision for recounting in NA-249 Karachi.

He said this while talking to media men here Wednesday after appearing in Accountability Court (AC).

He held there was no complaint of rigging in the by polls at NA-249. We have accepted EC decision for recounting therein. The Returning Officer (RO) had rejected the demand for recounting.

He pointed out that electronic voting machine was talked about in 2017. We will not make progress unless we go beyond the political statements.

It was heard that limited seats will be kept in aircrafts but it has not happened so, he added. We have allowed 20 attendances in Sindh government offices.

50 persons are standing in a small room which is not the way to contain coronavirus, he remarked. We press the button and come to know about the SOPs. How many SOPs have been followed? We have to curb spread of coronavirus.

You call 50 persons daily from Karachi while we have not allowed over 25 percent people in Sindh Assembly, he stated. We had asked for pursuing one policy in religious matters. Interprovincial transport should be suspended for two weeks. We had proposed for suspending intercity transport.

Taking a jib he said Prime Minister says don’t worry but I have been worried far before since August 2018.
