Govt decides to auction Nawaz Sharif confiscated property in Sheikhupura on May 20


ISLAM ABAD, May 18 (Online): Government has decided to put to auction on May 20 the confiscated property of Nawaz Sharif located in Sheikhupura.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sheikhupura has fixed May 20 for auction . On the other hand the DC Shei9khupura decision for setting the date for auction has been challenged in Islamabad High Court.

The petitioner Ashraf Malik said he had purchased 88 kanal land from Nawaz Sharif which is located in Sheikhupura. Payment of Rs 75 million has also been made to Nawaz Sharif. However sale deed could not be executed due to arrest of Nawaz Sharif. He has resorted to civil court in connection with execution of the sale deed. Therefore, DC Sheikhupura be barred from auctioning agriculture land in Sheikhupura.
