LHC summons reply from govt till May 26 for stopping Shahbaz Sharif from going abroad


LAHORE, May 19 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned reply from government on the petition filed by Shahbaz Sharif for stopping him from going abroad despite court’s orders.

The petition against non allowing Shahbaz Sharif by the government to go abroad came up for hearing in LHC for hearing Wednesday.

Justice Ali Baqir Najfi inquired if this petition is maintainable after Shahbaz Sharif name has been put on ECL and LHC interim order has been challenged in Supreme Court (SC) How can the court interim order be implemented after placement of Shahbaz Sharif name in ECL.

Azam Nazir Tarar advocate argued court should summon reply from the government and then entire matter would become clear.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) said Shahbaz Sharif did not file court’s order about him with any respective authority and instead he moved straight to airport. He provided court’s order to the staff. It was responsibility of Shahbaz Sharif to get serve court’s orders.

Airport staff told Shahbaz Sharif his name is not in blacklist while the court’s order related to blacklist.

The court while issuing notice to the federal government and other respondents summoned reply on May 26.
