IHC summons interior, defence ministries officers on June 30 to assist it in recovery of missing journalist case


Islamabad (Muhammad Basharat – Online), June 17: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed responsible officers of ministry of interior and ministry of defence to appear before it in person on June 23 to assist it in case pertaining to recovery of missing journalist Mudassar Naroo.
The court also summoned detailed report of ongoing proceedings of commission on enforced disappearances.
A single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Amir Farooq took up the case for hearing Thursday.

Usman Warraich and Emman Mazari advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.

Usman Warraich counsel for the petitioner told the court ministry of defence said the missing person is not in their custody. While interior ministry is second major respondent in the case. Responsibility be fixed on some institution.

The court issued directives that who is among the family of the missing person. File the list of legal heirs.

The court remarked 展e order for incurring expenses in respect of upbringing of Machal, 3 years old son of the missing person. Protecting the rights of the child is responsibility of the state.

The court while expressing annoyance over one page report presented by additional attorney general ordered one page be not given and a detailed report be filed.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till June 23.
