Finance bill motion approved with majority vote in NA


ISLAMABAD, June 29 (Online): Finance Amendment Bill 2021 has been passed in National Assembly (NA) with majority vote.

The Finance Minister (FM) Shaukat Tarin rejected all the amendments presented by the opposition.

FM presented finance bill in the NA. Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri tabled motion for presenting finance bill. The motion was approved after voting.

Opposition protested over it.Qasim Khan Suri presented the motion for 4th time when all treasury members had come in the house.

Opposition voiced protest that reasury members were not present at the time of voting. Qasim Suri said he will again present the motion.

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and former Leader of the Opposition Khurshid Shah reached the House and were greeted by members of the Opposition.
In addition, opposition and government members took turns meeting Khurshid Shah, who attended the meeting after being released on a production order.
PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari also reached the National Assembly.
Counting was held. In the meantime Prime Minister Imran Khan also reached the house to take part in the voting.
In the meantime Asad Qaisar took the chair of speaker
After voting speaker NA Asad Qaisar said finance bill is approved.
172 votes were cast in favor of bill while 138 votes were cast against the motion.

All the opposition amendements were rejected during voting in the house.
