Bus-troller collision claims 31 lives


DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 19 (Online): As many as 31 people have died while several are reported to have been injured in bus and troller collision near Taunsa By pass in Dera Ghazi Khan.

The clash between bus and the troller coming from opposite side took place on Indus Highway near Taunsa bypass in Dera Ghazi Khan leaving several people injured. The injured were rushed to Dera Ghazi Khan teaching hospital where the hospital staff confirmed the death of 18 people initially. 10 out of 60 injured died during the treatment.

Hospital management have declared several injured to be in critical condition and the death toll is feared to rise.

The local administration said the bus was on its way from Sialkot to Rajanpur and majority of the commuters was laborers who were proceeding to their home towns for celebrating Eid.

The chief minister Punjab has expressed profound grief over the fatal accident. He has contacted commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan division and issued directives to him for providing medical treatment to the injured.
