IHC extends the order of suspending registration of case against PTI leader Sardar Tanvir Ilyas for 10 days


ISLAMABAD, July 28 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended the order of suspending the registration of case against PTI leader Ilyas Tanveer for further 10 days on the charges of sending his immoral videos to a citizen and harassing him.

The case came up for hearing in the single bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice Athar Minallah Wednesday.

The court inquired can justice of peace order FIA for registration of case.

The court directed the respondents to give arguments on this important legal point on next hearing.

FIA filed report in the court that this matter does not come under Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) -2016, therefore, FiR cannot be registered.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Syed Tayyab Shah presented FIA report before the court.

Imran Feroz the counsel for the petitioner told the court this matter comes under the jurisdiction of FIA under section-21 of PECA Act Sessions court had ordered to take action against those found responsible for sending immoral videos. The petitioner had charged PTI leader Ilyas Tanvir with harassing him.

Imran Feroz advocate pursued the case on behalf of the petitioner Khawaja Fahim. Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Atta Rabani had issued orders on the petition of Khawaja Fahim.

The petitioner has taken the plea that Tanvir Ilyas sent him his immoral video through his mobile number and harassed him. Sessions judge had ordered that if the petitioner proved false during the investigation then action should be taken against him.
