ISLAMABAD, Aug 16 (Online): Pakistan has said achieving lasting peace and stability and ending 4-decade old conflict in Afghanistan is joint responsibility of international community.

Our collective efforts will act as instrumental in bringing durable peace, development and prosperity in Afghanistan, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry in a statement issued here Monday.

He went on to say we are keeping watchful eyes on fast paced evolving situation in Afghanistan. Pakistan thinks that the Afghan leadership should work together in the prevailing situation so that the way for durable peace and stability could be paved in Afghanistan.

He held Pakistan has always emphasized on political solution of Afghanistan issue. We will continue to play our constructive role in this regard, he added.

He underlined “we hope our collective efforts will help in ensuring lasting peace, development and prosperity in Afghanistan.
