Pakistan issues visas to Afghan cricket team


Islamabad – August 23 (Online): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Sunday said that Pakistan has issued visas to Afghan cricket team.
In a tweet, he said he hoped and prayed that the Afghan cricket team would bring smiles on the faces of its people.
“My sincere prayers and best wishes were with you,” he wrote the last line of tweet in Pushto language.
Earlier, the ODI series between Pakistan and Afghanistan had been canceled due to a lockdown in Sri Lanka. The formal announcement would be made later.
According to sources, it has become impossible to hold Pakistan-Afghanistan ODI matches due to the 10-day lockdown in Sri Lanka as a neutral venue, other issues including logistics could not be resolved.
