Government has come through backdoor: Shahbaz


KARACHI, August 30 (Online): PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif has said that government has come through back door and we don’t want resistance or reconciliation but we want transparent election and rule of law.

He said this while talking to media men after visiting Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam here Monday.

He went on to say Pakistan was dismembered and we learnt no lesson from it. We should pursue the principles of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. We can regain our lost status through hard work and honesty.

He observed that 20 hours long load shedding in the country will not end through sorcery or amulets. Loadshedding ended in the country due to hard work and struggle of Nawaz Sharif.

He held country will not progress till the development of small provinces. Green line was PML-N project. We gave gift to people of Sindh and Karachi.

He underlined that PPP is a political party and a reality. All the political parties have made me opposition leader in National Assembly (NA). It is my obligation to take along all the political parties.

Criticising the government he said the incumbent government is incompetent and inept and it has c ome through back door. During the last 74 years establishment has not supported as much as it has supported he sitting government. But government did not benefit from it.

Responding to a question he said this impression is wrong that when we were in power we did not visit Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam .

He underlined green line was gift from federation to Sindh. We worked hard to with provincial government to overcome water shortage in Karachi.

He underlined “when we were in power and I visited China then chief ministers of other provinces were with me in foreign visits several times.

Responding to a question he said while thanking PPP and other parties that they elected me as opposition leader and it is my responsibility to raise voice on different problems, expose the corruption of the worst ever and incompetent government of history and hold it accountable.

He remarked “we have two demands. The 2023 polls should be held in transparent manner and all the parties should take part therein with full preparations. The party which is elected through transparent polls should be given full fledged opportunity to rule.

We will make Karachi Paris if voted to power, he announced.

Commenting on Afghan situation he said we support Afghan talks but on the matters of government making, polls and other state matters, Afghan people have to decide. We will have to accept it whosoever comes to power as per people will, he added.
