Cantonment board polls’ results prove PTI only national party: Asad Umar


Islamabad – September 13 (Online): Federal Minister for planning and development Asad Umar has said that results of cantonment boards’ elections show that PTI is only national party.
In a tweet on Monday, Asad said that results prove that Prime Minister Imran Khan is the only national leader.
Ruling PTI has secured closely held victory in cantonment boards’ polls held Sunday.
Asad Umar said that PTI has secured either first or second position in every province. PML-N stood fifth as per results. They could not bag even a single seat in Baluchistan, the minister wrote.
He said that PPP could not win a single seat in Punjab and Baluchistan.
Meanwhile, PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif has also congratulated his party, praising party leadership and workers for their hard work.
According to a tweet by official twitter handle of PML-N, Shahbaz has lauded his party’s leaders on their success in the cantonment elections.
Ruling PTI has emerged as the largest party in Cantonment Boards’ elections across the country with 58 seats.
According to the unofficial preliminary results, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has got 51 seats followed by 49 independent candidates.
Pakistan Peoples Party has managed to win 14 seats and Mutahidda Quomi Movement got ten seats.
Jamat-i-Islami has also won five seats while Balochistan Awami Party got 2 seats.
