IHC orders FIA to contact journalists’ organizations in the event of any complaint against the journalists
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered FIA to contact journalists’ organization in the event of any complaint against the journalists.
The IHC bench led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah issued written order in the case pertaining to harassment of journalists Wednesday.
It has been said in the order that director Cyber Crime should contact PFUJ and Islamabad High Court Journalists Association .
Director Cyber crime wing should seek proposals from journalists organizations in the cases against the journalists.
The journalists said they will formulate guidelines so that they could become part of SOPs.
Will the protection of the rights laid down in articles 19 and 19-A of the constitution be ensured.
FIA director told the court there is no case against the petitioner Arshid Sharif.
The journalist Arshid Sharif told the court he was not harassed after court’s orders.
Afzal Butt and Shahzada Zulfiqar said that opportunity be given to frame guidelines in respect of action against the journalists.
The CJ IHC issued written order on the petition of journalists.
