Former governor Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema has challenged his removal from his office e in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
He has filed petition in IHC challenging the notification about his removal from the office of governor Punjab.
Assistant Registrar of diary branch while raising objection over the petition filed by former governor Punjab has said this matter relates to Punjab and it does not fall in the jurisdiction of this court. \The petition is non maintainable.
Umar Sarfraz Cheema filed the petition through Babar Awan advocate. It has been said in the petition his removal from governorship is illegal. The powers being exercised by one man in Punjab is illegal.
He contended that Prime Minister removed him from governorship illegally to benefit his son. Action should be taken against those as well who have got issued notification from cabinet division.
He requested the court to set aside the order regarding his removal. As per constitution, governor is representative of federation in the province. The notification is against the constitution.
