Eight commuters were killed and several injured as a coaster-buss fell into a ditch at Murree’s Galiyat road, it emerged.
According to media reports, two busses collided at Galiyat road’s Khera Gali as one fell into deep ditch, causing eight people to die.
Many natives reached the scene soon after receiving the news, and started rescuing victims on their own. Later, rescue operation was conducted by rescue and police teams.
Rescue 1122 Murree and KPK teams are conducting the operation and 12 injured so far have been moved to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Murree, while eight bodies have also been recovered.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz on Monday passed on his condolences on the accident and ordered an inquiry report into the matter.
An eyewitness of the incident told media that drivers were trying to cross each other over, and the busses collided as a result of over speeding.
