IHC reserves judgment on acquittal plea of co-accused in misuse of powers reference against former PM Shaukat Aziz
ISLAMABAD, October 07 (Online): Accountability Court (AC) has reserved judgment on acquittal plea of Ismail Qureshi, co-accused in misuse of powers reference against former Prime Minister (PM) Shaukat Aziz and others.
The acquittal plea came up for hearing before Judge Muhammad Azam Khan of AC here Wednesday.
Advancing arguments on acquittal plea of co-accused Ismail Qureshi the counsel said the country cannot run if PM of the country is not empowered to employ consultant. If PM commits wrong doing then he should be questioned. My client has remained federal secretary rather than PM. The decision for appointment of Ismail Qureshi was taken through board.
NAB Prosecutor Usman Mirza while opposing the acquittal plea prayed the court to reject this plea of Ismail Qureshi. All the records with reference to Ismail Qureshi are available in the reference.
