JC under Justice Qazi Faez Isa constituted to probe leaked audios
ISLAMABAD, May 20 (Online): Federal government has constituted Judicial Commission (JC) to probe into leaked audios .
The three-member commission will be headed by Supreme Court’s Justice Qazi Faez Isa while Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will be its members.
The government has issued notification in this regard. Commission will start investigation immediately.
According to notification commission will investigate into audio leaks of the former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab and sitting judge of Supreme Court (SC).
The commission will investigate into audio leaks of former CM Punjab and senior lawyer. The audio leaks connected with judges and their families will also be investigated.
Attorney General (AG) will assist the commission. Federal government and provinces will be bound to assist commission. Commission will complete its investigations within 30 days. Commission TORs are part of notification.
Commission will also investigate the matter of fixing specific benches for hearing of cases. The alleged audios related to former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) will also be investigated.
It has been said in the notification that talks are being made about learned judge of SC in audio leaks. Commission will investigate into it and fix responsibility.
The matter of talks between former chief justice and lawyer will also be investigated.
The commission will investigate the veracity of several audio leaks, including a call between mother in law of the Chief Justice of Pakistan and wife of a lawyer regarding cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan and hoping for un-constitutional rule.
Judicial commission will also decide about holding accountable those found responsible as per law. Commission will see what agency can hold them accountable.
Commission will prepare its report within a month. It will be authorized to extend this time if need arises.
