IHC summons EC representative for not de-notifying PML-N MPA despite his disqualification

ISLAMABAD (Muhammad Basharat Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned representative of Election Commission (EC) for not denotifying PML-N MPA Kashif Chaudhry despite his disqualification.

Acting Chief Justice (ACJ) Amir Farooq took the contempt of court case for hearing Friday.

The defence counsel told the court IHC disqualified Kashif Chaudhry for possessing fake degree. His appeal plea was dismissed by Supreme Court (SC) as well. The EC did not de-notify the MPA despite his disqualification by the court.

The court issued notice to PML-N MPA Kashif Chaudhry from Bahawalnagar for next hearing.

The court while directing EC representative to appear before it on July 20 in person adjourned the hearing of the case.
